Tamara
Tamara enrolled in an RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) study in Winston-Salem, NC. There is currently no RSV vaccine, and what has traditionally been a virus that affects infants, has now started to affect older adults.
This is not Tamara’s first clinical trial. She participates in research not only because she knows she is having a significant impact on science but also because it helps her engage in her own healthcare. By participating in research, Tamara gets to play an active role in her own health.
When doctors ask her if she wants to volunteer for clinical trials, her curiosity propels her to participate. "I think that it's important to participate because that is the only way we have new medical solutions for the future."
