WINSTON SALEM, NC – April 20 , 2022 – Talaris Therapeutics (Talaris), which is developing a new approach to induce immune tolerance in organ transplant recipients as well as patients with certain other severe autoimmune diseases; and Greater Gift of Winston Salem, a non-profit that celebrates and seeks to increase diversity in clinical research, have partnered to recognize volunteers who participate in clinical trials.
In addition to providing for certificates to be sent to clinical trial participants, acknowledging their contribution to science and the advancement of medicine, Talaris’ partnership with Greater Gift will provide backpacks with meals for families who need them through Feeding America.
Greater Gift’s programs celebrate clinical trial volunteers by making donations on behalf of those participants to reinforce the impact of the volunteer’s contribution for advancing clinical research. Celebrations of clinical trial volunteers have provided an additional benefit of 130,000 vaccines and meals to children in need through prior programs.
“We are honored to celebrate people who participate in clinical trials and to use this opportunity to assist families in need,” said Scott Requadt, President and Chief Executive Officer of Talaris. “We’re grateful to Greater Gift for encouraging people to participate in clinical trial research, which is so critical to the advancement of medicines and therapies to treat and cure diseases.”
