As a clinical research professional with nearly 20 years experience, I appreciate the importance of patient engagement as part of a complex process. I am often reminded through various experiences of why I got involved in this work in the first place – the patient and their needs.
Most recently Greater Gift has become involved in the Hero’s Journey Art project. This project honors patients by having them share their individual stories through art. Such a convergence of science and art is incredible because it honors patients in a way that has never been done before.
Each statue, of approximately 300 bricks, tells stories of individuals whose lives have been impacted by clinical research. It is not only important to acknowledge these participants but celebrate and elevate their stories of hope. Clinical trials have changed lives and made a lasting impact on humankind.
