Investigator Location Services (ILS) is partnering with The Greater Gift Initiative, a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance global health and highlight the greater good of clinical trial participation by gifting a vaccine to a child in honor of every clinical trial volunteer.
Since its founding in 2010, the Greater Gift Initiative, has donated 6400 polio vaccines to children in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria. In 2011, the Greater Gift Initiative is poised to expand their mission throughout the clinical research industry to ensure an even greater impact to global health.
The Vision
That vision is to make the gift of one childhood vaccine for each volunteer the industry-wide standard for honoring and thanking clinical trial participants.
How It Works
Participating investigators, sponsors and CROs make a small donation for each patient who participates in a clinical trial. A donation in 2011 funds the delivery of a life-saving pentavalent vaccine (Diphtheria, Tetanus, HiB, Pertussis, and Hepatitis B) to a child in need. Patients are provided with a certificate that the donation has been made because they participated in research.
